Bring Me The Horizon Cancel Tour, Promise To Return
UK metalcore giants Bring Me The Horizon have cancelled the rest of their Aussie tour just hours before gates were scheduled to open in Adelaide after frontman Oli Sykes was diagnosed with acute laryngitis.
The band released a statement saying that the rest of the tour would be completed, but they were forced to cancel the final two dates as well. The band says the decision was not taken lightly, as doctors had by that point diagnosed Sykes and advised immediate rest. But if you’re one of the unfortunate people to have missed out, never fear – Bring Me The Horizon have urged fans to hold onto their tickets and promised to play the cancelled shows when they next return.
With the show cancelled, speculation arose that support act Architects would take on the headliner mantle, but these rumors were shot down by the band’s drummer Dan Searle. Instead, Searle did promise the band planned to return to Australia next year for their own headline tour to make up for the cancelled shows. The cancellation follows the death of founding member Tom Searle after an ongoing battle with cancer.
