Brisbane’s Rock & Roll Writers Festival Announces First 2017 Speakers
After the success of the inaugural festival in 2016, A Rock & Roll Writers Festival has announced it will be coming back in April 2017!
Australia’s first and only literary festival devoted to exploring and celebrating music journalism and writing, this year’s A Rock & Roll Writers Festival was held in Fortitude Valley and featured appearances from internationally acclaimed authors, songwriters, journalists, commentators, and broadcasters. The 2017 festival will follow the same structure but at a new location, the Old Museum in Bowen Hills.
The first guest speaker announcement was released over the weekend and is pretty damn impressive! The lineup includes music biographer Holly George-Warren, novelist Nick Earls, music photographer Sophie Howarth, musician and memoirist Hugo Race, current Grant McLennan Fellowship songwriter Tim Steward, country-blues artist Cash Savage, and songwriter Mike Noga.
Further speakers will continue to be announced over the coming months, with the full speaker lineup set to be revealed in February 2017. Get in quick and grab an early bird ticket or head to A Rock & Roll Writers Festival website for more information.
