VIDEO SPOTLIGHT: Bastille Return With “Good Grief” & Album News!
Still humming the awe-inspiring intro to Pompeii? Well have no fear, the London 4-piece Bastille are back on the scene, and they’ve returned with some big news.
The British boys will be releasing their highly anticipated sophomore album ‘Wild World’ later this year, and with their debut ‘Bad Blood’ selling four million copies, we’re expecting big things. Along with the album news, the band have released a crazy new video for their new single Good Grief.
The video gives off some cool vintage vibes and somehow manages to incorporate a giant stuffed teddy bear, a bank robbery and an estranged naked woman all in four minutes. It’s basically an outrageous, repetitive compilation of concepts that slowly intertwine with each other *takes breathe*.
Sounds complex and nonsensical, right? According to front man Dan Smith there’s a method behind the madness, though. “The world can seem a fucked up place, but people- well, people can be amazing”, he says.
As for the song, it’s a super catchy combination of low bass guitar riffs and synchronized claps that’s sure to be worth the wait for those eager fans. It also incorporates some vintage voice samples, adding a groovy new vibe to their alternative pop sound, making the track and accompanying video work together perfectly.
The song has already reached the most week-one streams for an alternative single, so you know we’re in for a WILD ride!
