Bumpy Shares New Single ‘Feel Good’ Ahead of Forthcoming Album Kanana

Naarm/Melbourne-based soul artist and proud Noongar woman Bumpy has released her radiant new single Feel Good, taken from her highly anticipated debut album Kanana, arriving October 3.

A blissful blend of neo-soul, RnB, and funk, Feel Good captures Bumpy at her most celebratory, moving away from deep introspection to embrace joy, connection and the present moment. Written during a camping trip that offered escape from chaos, the track has since become a live favourite thanks to its glowing arrangements, from fluttering Rhodes and organ to a buoyant horn section and Bumpy’s unmistakable celestial vocals.

Kanana, meaning Land Where the Sunsets in Noongar, reflects Bumpy’s journey of reconnecting with Country, language and family legacy.

“It was a really vulnerable moment for all of us to come together and go, “What does everybody have in terms of resources and understanding of our language and our family’s legacy? Do we know enough and are we confident enough in what we know to share that with future generations?” It was a beautiful moment to share that with each other and look forward to learning together.” Bumpy.

Created in collaboration with her long-time band, the expansive ‘Bumpy Choir’, and GRAMMY-nominated producer Nick Herrera (Hiatus Kaiyote, Nai Palm), the record promises a deeply textured exploration of culture, community, and self-expression.

Already celebrated for her debut EP Morning Sun (2023) and performances at Vivid LIVE, WOMADelaide, Meredith, and London Jazz Festival, Bumpy continues to solidify her place as one of Australia’s most powerful voices in contemporary soul.

Feel Good is out now. Kanana is available to pre-order ahead of its October 3 release.
