Buttered Sooth The Soul With Their Debut Album, ‘Homesick’

“We produced Homesick while being inspired by the likes of Parcels to D’angelo, Marvin Gaye and Post Malone, most [of the record] being created in one of our bedrooms or Scott’s mum’s house.”  – BUTTERED.

“We wanted to string together lots of different elements of love and relationship. Mostly romantic or lustful (‘Blue Jeans’, ‘Honey Lips’, ‘Perfect’) but have the other, difficult parts of relating (‘Jealous’, ‘Experience’). Homesick is our representation of all things in a relationship and how you can have nostalgia with many different parts of relating with someone even when it’s kind of shit.”  – BUTTERED.

To celebrate the release of the long-awaited debut album, the duo will embark upon an intimate album launch tour, playing a handful of dates across QLD and NSW.

“We’ve been perfecting our live set over the last twelve months, incorporating songs from the album and getting an upbeat and energetic experience for the crew that come out and see us. We’ve been good friends with Mirror Mirror for a long time, so we’re thrilled to have them joining us on our debut album tour! We look forward to meeting you all then.

“From weeks recording in a shed to a beautiful home in Toowoomba or mostly in a spare room at each other’s houses we slowly but surely pieced the album together… It was a learn as you go process, but we are so stoked with having had so much time to sit on ideas and take the music wherever it needed to go without rushing anything. Shout out to our mixing engineer Jared Adlam who had to deal with our novice sessions that were a mess… To sum it up, we can’t wait to do it again!” –  BUTTERED.
