CAMP COPE Announce New Shows with Cayetana & Pity Sex

In what will no doubt be one of the coolest pairings this year, Melbourne’s CAMP COPE have announced a string of highly-anticipated shows with Philadelphia’s Cayetana. The shows will be added between the bands’ scheduled appearances at Weekender Fest in Melbourne, and I Love Life Festival in Sydney and Brisbane later this year. The sideshows will see the two bands playing three additional shows together in NSW and ACT.

CAMP COPE have been turning plenty of heads lately with the release of their self-titled debut album back in April. The album’s two singles Lost (Season One) and Jet Fuel Can’t Melt Steel Beams are great examples of their effortless, catchy style, while also being lyrically important. Jet Fuel Can’t Melt Steel Beams is about the discrimination and unwanted catcalls women encounter.

Cayetana, a band CAMP COPE cite as one of their formative influences, will be making their debut on Australian shores. The American trio have been making music together since 2011, crafting their own unique sound over the past five years. The band’s debut album ‘Nervous Like Me’ received critical acclaim and saw the indie rockers gaining much deserved attention.

Fellow American’s Pity Sex will also be joining the bands for their Sydney show. The gig will be one of many the band will be playing in Aus, as part of their national tour later this year.
