Cash Savage & The Last Drinks Are Coming For Ya In New Song

Cash Savage

Dark lord of Australian music Nick Cave has for eons casted a shadow over many brooding folk-blues musicians across the country. However, now reaching out from that darkness is Melbournians Cash Savage and The Last Drinks.

The brilliantly-named 6-piece, led by the rabid howl of Cash Savage, have been causing a raucous over the past few years with their doom-laden take on country and blues rock.

After what Savage describes as a “f*cking awesome, but f*cking hard” 2015, the band return with a new album ‘One Of Us’ on new label Mistletone records, joining a roster including Beach House and Toro Y Moi.

The latest taster from their third studio album is opening track Falling, Landing. The track starts at a slow lurch with just Savage’s menacing voice over the top of a lone guitar, with lyrics welcoming someone back home. The welcome feels more threatening, especially when the rest of the band join in to break the building tension with a burst of distorted guitar, thumping drums, and a screeching violin.

The accompanying music video to the new single is just as stark, featuring a dizzying compilation of close-up shots in black-and-white of the band performing, with shadows moving in the background that eventually swallowing the band.

Cash Savage and The Last Drinks’ third album ‘One Of Us’ is set for release Friday, 1st of July. Check out Falling, Landing and tour info below!
