Catfish & The Bottlemen Announce New Album And Release Video for Soundcheck

Catfish And The Bottlemen 2016

After winning the Brit Award for Best British Breakthrough Act last month, indie-rock outfit Catfish and the Bottlemen will unleash their new album ‘The Ride’ on Friday 27 May.

To keep us satisfied while we’re waiting, the band dropped the video for their latest single Soundcheck, released in February.

The video for this classic brit-rock track, shot in the band’s signature black and white, captures the intensity of a Catfish and the Bottlemen live show.

Evan “Van’” McCann said the 4-piece wanted to stay inside the box while making the new album since everyone else was trying so hard to be different and arty.

“I always say if you can play it on an acoustic guitar and win over a bar or a kitchen even of rowdy people… you’ve done it,’’ McCann said.

‘The Ride’ promises to be a worthy follow-up to their 2014 album ‘The Balcony’. Fans can expect a stack of gusty high-octane tracks offset by mellow acoustic tracks Glasgow and Heathow, which were made to be played live.

The band sold out their forthcoming UK tour in four minutes, and we remain hopeful they’ll return to back up their Aussie performance debut supporting The Kooks in January last year.

We are surely crossing our fingers and are excited to see what these boys have in store for us.
