Celebrate The Monarch With A Killer Caxton Street Festival Lineup
Now in its 22nd year, this year’s Caxton Street festival is set to be a big one. The iconic street party, features a massive genre- bending lineup covering all bases from indie-rock to electronica, so there’s sure to be an act for every punter.
Headlining the festival are Brisbane indie heavyweights Last Dinosaurs. Having just wrapped up two sold-out tours that spanned the country as well as South East Asia, this band are sure to close out the festival with a bang. Sydney-based hip hop MC Urthboy has also jumped on the bill. Having delivered a killer set at this year’s Splendour in the Grass, as well as wrapping up his biggest tour to date, this will be a set you don’t want to miss.
Riding high off the back of a sold-out Australian run to support their latest release ‘This Is Our Vice’, as well as their widely celebrated Triple J’s Like A Version, Cub Sport will also be playing the festival. Other acts include Pocketlove, Brad Butcher, The Honey Sliders, The Walters, The Mad Mariachi and more.
New to this year’s festivities is a dedicated DJ stage. Headlined by special guest Nicky Night Time, with support from some of Brisbane’s best DJs this stage will be running from midday till late, and is sure to keep the party going. On top of this Caxton Street Festival organisers have brought back the popular Caxton Uncovered competition. This competition gives up-and-coming local acts a chance to gain a supporting slot on one of the festivals outdoor stages.
While you’re treating your ears to some of Australia’s finest music, treat your tastebuds to some gourmet street food from one of the many “street eat” stalls that will be there, or grab a drink from one of the many pop up bars.
