Chelsea Rockwells Drop Video For “Stone”, Live Up To Their Name

Chelsea Rockwells are back with a vengeance with the release of their music video for single Stone! The second song from their upcoming debut EP is full of chunky riffs, colossal bass, and kick-heavy percussion. And as if that wasn’t enough, the trio have also announced a Queensland tour!

The video stars a seductive woman heading down the highway at night with a mystery man. They arrive at a dark room and quickly get intimate, seeming to be completely enamoured with each other. But just as she’s stolen the poor guy’s heart she leaves again while he sleeps, getting back in the pink muscle car they arrived in and whisking herself away.

Stone is yet another heavy banger that lands in the heavy side of alt-rock territory with its strong riffs and powerful energy.

Slow and perfectly composed drum motifs lead the way for a dominant bass line to tie down the song. Solid guitar riffs and melodies provide the perfect backdrop for the vocals, which are actually pretty clean, to shine over the top. This is no mindless song either, with the repeating line “Your heart is made of stone” making you think about the meaning behind the tune.

Forming in late 2015, Chelsea Rockwells say their sound is inspired by bands like Faith No More and Queens of the Stone Age. We can hear the resemblance, as the trio have offered up a sound so far that’s heavy, but polished and unique.

The idea behind Stone didn’t come together overnight. “The song was inspired by what we’ve noticed is happening in the world at the moment – a lot of selfish corruption, but also a lot of positive change, inspirational events and potential. We’re not trying to be a political band, but sometimes you need to question and stand up for what is right,” says bassist Jay Vincent.

The guys will be touring Queensland later this month, including Brisbane and the Gold Coast, to give us a taste of their live energy. Now that we’ve had a taste for their music, we’re hungry for more and can’t wait to see what the guys churn out next. Check out the new song and upcoming tour dates below!
