CHEZ Returns with Spellbinding New Single, ‘deja vu’

Boorloo/Perth-based pop artist CHEZ has returned with her spellbinding single ‘deja vu‘ – produced by the artist herself, Caleb Lenzo and Reece Lenzo (We The Kings44phantomSK8).

‘deja vu’ is a hypnotic mirror into CHEZ’s internal monologue, unfolding with delicate instrumentation that casts a hauntingly intimate glow. As the track builds, lush synths entwine with reverb-drenched piano, weaving an ethereal mist that drifts through the haze of reflection.

CHEZ talks about the inspiration behind ‘deja vu’:

“I will never forget the session we wrote ‘deja vu’. I had just got off an 8-hour call with my A&R Ron, discussing peeling back the layers in my songwriter and letting people in. Being extremely introverted and filled with so much self-doubt – the thought of letting people see the core of me was too terrifying. I remember crying – thinking I wasn’t good enough – that I’m not capable to let people in and show them how I feel about myself or my experiences. We went back and forth for hours in the studio; I wanted to quit so many times. And eventually, it just all poured out…It was the quickest song I ever wrote.”

In the live scene, CHEZ recently sold out her debut headline show three weeks before the performance date (200 tickets) and performed on Scene Queen‘s Australian tour. She will be performing with Set It Off (USA) this November and has previously shared the stage with acts such as Against TheCurrent (USA), PVRIS (USA), Magnolia Park (USA) and Taylor Acorn (USA).
