CHEZ Reveals Inspirations Behind New Single, ‘honeY’
Boorloo/Perth-based pop artist CHEZ has unveiled her intoxicating single ‘honeY‘ – produced by the artist herself, Caleb Lenzo and Reece Lenzo (We The Kings, 44phantom, SK8). To celebrate the release, CHEZ has shared with us her top 5 songs she’s listening to right now.
Music has always been a huge source of inspiration for me, and right now, these five songs have been on repeat in my playlists. Each one brings something special, and I’m excited to share why I’m vibing with them. – CHEZ.
I watched Pop Academy on Netflix and became obsessed with this group. The drive, talent and work ethic these girls have is inspiring and this song to me is a reflection of that. The k-pop chords with the drum n bass beat just makes me feel so good. The hooks are amazing and it was so cool to see how they marketed this song.
GIRLS just throws me backkk. The production reminds me of Ne-Yo and Timbaland era stuff. I love the strings in this and the groove is crazy.
I’m obsessed with how playful and confident this song is. Sabrina’s delivery is slick, and the chorus has this irresistible groove that makes you want to dance. It’s bold, cheeky, and all about owning who you are.
Taking me back to Y2K and I’m here for it! This track has been on repeat. I’m obsessed with the rhythmic melodies and the relatability of the lyrics. With the luck of attention span, I feel like this track never has a dull moment. I’m intrigued from the beginning to the end.
Another one from Sabrina, but I had to include it. “Good Graces” has this beautiful, reflective tone that feels super personal. The melodies are so delicate yet powerful—it’s a track that makes you feel all the feelings.
These songs are my current soundtrack, and I hope they inspire you as much as they inspire me.
