Rising multi-talented artist Hallie has shared some local wisdom, letting us know their must-visit spots in Meanjin/Brisbane.
Hallie is a multi-faceted creative, becoming known for their singer/songwriter/producer prowess. They’ve just added to their ever-expanding indie-rock discography, releasing new single ‘Do It‘ and a self-directed (in partnership with Lili Pedrazzini) music video tinged with dreamy neon/fluorescent aesthetics. They’ve also announced an upcoming headline tour spanning September and October, hitting stages across the nation and including festival appearances at Caloundra, The Drop, Crafted Beer & Cider and Bigsound.

Gramps Cafe
“I’m definitely biased on this one because my housemate works there, but the energy in this cafe is so calming and wholesome. The staff are so beautiful and personable, the coffee and food is awesome and it kind of by mistake has turned into a bit of a queer hub.”

“If you haven’t seen a show here yet, you have got to go! The sound is spectacular, the building itself is gorgeous and its a bit of a new edition to Meanjin. Definitely worth the visit!”
The Green Edge
“As a vegan, this place is heaven. It’s an all-vegan restaurant/ cafe/ grocer and its where I go to treat myself on my birthday every year. It makes me hungry just thinking about it. You have to try the iced coffees and the vegan meatball sub!”
New Farm Park
“When covid lockdown ended in Brisbane and clubs were still not open yet, New Farm Park became the place to be. It’s BYO and you’re always bound to see someone you know there! Such a community spot and so fun to get yourself out and about. Also, it’s right near the valley so it’s perfect for Pres before a gig!”
The Enoggera Reservoir
“This is the place to be in summer when you don’t want to make the long trek to the beach. Such a peaceful spot to have a swim, journal, hang out with your friends. It’s the ultimate wholesome Brisbane spot. Only thing I’d say is beware of the catfish and bring a floatie!”
