Clare Perrott Shines with Lively New Indie-Folk Single ‘Biting On The Hand’

Boorloo/Perth-based indie-folk artist Clare Perrott returns with her radiant new single ‘Biting On The Hand’. Following her acclaimed debut ‘Philadelphia’, the rising songwriter delivers a high-spirited blend of Americana warmth, country twang, and introspective charm — cementing her place as one of Australia’s most exciting emerging voices.
‘Biting On The Hand’ is an alt-folk anthem for the emotionally confused yet self-aware. Finger-picked banjo, fuzzy guitar licks, and lush vocal harmonies collide in a vibrant arrangement that feels both nostalgic and liberating — a celebration of learning to let go.

“The main message of the song is that we have to let go of things that don’t serve us anymore,” she adds. “I personally keep going back to past mistakes because somehow I cannot let go. We keep biting on the hand that doesn’t help us and going back for more when it only causes sadness and grief.”
With previous support from some of the country’s mammoth tastemakers, Perrott continues her upward trajectory, channeling honesty and heart through her distinctly Australian storytelling.
‘Biting On The Hand’ is out now, with a headline launch show at Mojo’s Bar, Fremantle on November 28.
