Clay Brown & The Trouble Round Town Confront Grief and Growth on Stirring New Single ‘No Place’

Boorloo/Perth outfit Clay Brown & The Trouble Round Town return with their emotive new single ‘No Place’, a raw and heartfelt indie-rock track that captures the push and pull between grief, healing, and new beginnings. Out now, the single finds frontman Clay Brown at his most vulnerable, channeling pain into jangly guitars, alt-rock grit, and soaring emotion.
Written during a period of personal loss, ‘No Place’ reflects on the dissonance of trying to move forward while still carrying the weight of the past.

“I wrote this song when I was going through a difficult time after losing someone very important in my life, and at the same time trying to start a new situation-ship with someone, but I was finding I just didn’t have myself all together yet for it mentally.”
The track blends indie and alt-rock textures, balancing conversational verses with a falsetto-laced chorus that’s both tender and defiant. A swirling slide guitar bridge adds a touch of alt-country charm, giving ‘No Place’ a distinctive, lived-in sound.
Following solo runs in London and Edinburgh, Clay Brown & The Trouble Round Town will celebrate the release with a single launch at El Grotto, Scarborough on Friday, October 24, joined by Lachy John & The Red Bellies and Moth Street Artists.
‘No Place’ is available now, everywhere.
