Coldplay Joined On Tour By Aussie Jess Kent

Coldplay

It’s been a long four year wait, but stadium greats Coldplay are back, and have just announced their support acts for their 2016 Australian tour. For what will truly be an Adventure Of A Lifetime, Coldplay will take the stage with British singer-songwriter Lianne La Havas and our own rising star Jess Kent.

La Havas has followed Coldplay on their world tour, performing throughout Latin America and Europe. Known for her sultry vocals, she weaves a complex fusion of soul and alt-funk; an aural gravitas most often achieved by artists well beyond her 25 years. She’s also a well-versed performer having already supported Bon Iver, and was an active contributor to Prince’s 2014 album ‘Art Official Age’.

The pom-fest continues with English and Australian singer-songwriter Jess Kent. She invaded our airwaves with her debut single Get Down in 2015, planting her feet firmly within the realms of hip-hop and pop. Often compared to M.I.A. and Tkay Maidza, Kent’s angsty teen lyrics are chased by buoyant reggae beats and grime, dancehall vibes.

2016 has been and will continue to be a game changer for Kent. After kicking off the year with a performance at Field Day, she went on to feature on Pace’s striking track, 1993 (No Chill). She also scored a spot playing alongside Flume at his Splendour In The Grass wrap up. However, we have a feeling the best is yet to come…
