Colibrium Announce In Perfect Balance Ahead of National Tour
Adelaide 5-piece rock outfit Colibrium are finding the best balance of their artistic careers to date with the release of their debut album ‘In Balance’. Colibrium have been dominating the South Australian music scene for years and the release of ‘In Balance’ sees them announce their presence on the national music stage and bring their massive sound to the masses.
Having spent the last three years collaborating with the best of the best, Colibrium have ensured ‘In Balance’ is second to none, both creatively and professionally. They’ve also drawn influence from a broad spectrum of musical influences, from Radiohead and Tool, to Australian rock heavyweights Karnivool and Dead Letter Circus.
Boasting a hefty work ethic, the band have definitely focused that energy into this banger of a rock album. Colibrium’s guitarist Christian Tassone is more than enthusiastic about the record’s release. “This is something that we have been working towards for so long. We are so proud of it. It’s going to be amazing to get to play it finally in front of people around the country and most specifically – in front of the Adelaide crowd, who have been with us all along the way!” Tassone said.
Colibrium have also released a video clip for their track Spinning On The Wheel. Shot in Adelaide’s CBD, the clip represents the urban ‘blender’ and cultural saturation common in today’s society. The track’s melodic mid section adds another layer with great progressive metal riffs and a catchy melody similar to Birds Of Tokyo’s Plans. It’s a well thrashed out and polished track.
With Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell-like vocals over alternative hard rock riffs, Colibrium are here to deliver a really cool and unique sound that feels both fresh and clever. There’s no doubt this rock-solid, professional soundscape record will please every listener from fans of Led Zeppelin to modern metal rockers Alter Bridge.
2015 saw the band supporting acts among Canada’s Thousand Foot Krutch, Brisbane’s Like Thieves, Melbourne’s Jericco, and a near-sold-out launch show of their own in Adelaide. Now with a raft of national appearances locked in for 2016, a truly unforgettable live show, debut album, and an ever growing fan base, Colibrium will be sure to make a mark on the Australian rock scene.
