Daily J Unveil Highly Anticipated Album Scatterbrains with Captivating Single ‘For Your Leisure’

New Zealand indie rock outfit Daily J have officially released their much-awaited sophomore album, Scatterbrains, marking an exciting evolution in their sound. Accompanying the album is the standout single For Your Leisure, a track that seamlessly blends darker, introspective verses with an anthemic, feel-good chorus, pushing the band into fresh sonic territory.

Scatterbrains sees Daily J embracing a more dynamic and multifaceted approach to their songwriting, diving into themes of self-reflection, disconnection, and the unpredictable journey of growing up. While still rooted in their signature surf-inspired guitar riffs and lush harmonies, the album introduces a deeper emotional complexity, creating a rollercoaster of moods from euphoric highs to melancholic introspection.

“With songs that range from happy to sad, inquisitive to outright mad. It’s a rollercoaster of feeling, and we hope it resonates with our listeners in a real and relatable way.” – Daily J.

Produced by Joe Faris, Scatterbrains follows the success of the band’s debut VENUS ATE MARS, expanding on their well-loved sound with ethereal textures and immersive production. Fans have already been treated to singles like Sunday Stitches, Tastes Like Forever, and Happy Slides, each offering a glimpse into the album’s rich sonic palette.

To celebrate the release, Daily J are embarking on their biggest Australasian tour to date, including a headline show at Auckland’s iconic Powerstation on March 28. With their ever-growing fanbase and undeniable momentum, Scatterbrains is set to further cement Daily J’s place as one of New Zealand’s most exciting musical exports.
