Daniel Trakell Shares Inspirations Behind His New Album, ‘Into the Blue’

Renowned indie-folk narrator Daniel Trakell has just unveiled his second album, ‘Into the Blue.’ This captivating 10-track collection embarks on a profound journey through the intricacies of life, encapsulated within Trakell’s distinctive and endearing indie-folk style. Rooted in a foundation of poignant lyrics that seamlessly intertwine the personal and the universal, Trakell artfully distils the subtle, bittersweet moments that define our existence. ‘Into the Blue’ is a testament to Trakell’s ability to weave narratives that resonate deeply, making it a compelling chapter in his musical odyssey.

The serene tranquillity and all-encompassing calm of nature permeate every note in this collection, recorded amid the peaceful surroundings of an old church hall nestled in Mollongghip, a quaint farming community just 20 minutes from Ballarat. The ethereal essence of the music is further shaped at Aviary Studios in Abbotsford, where a full band comes together to contribute their musical alchemy. The seamless integration of these distinct locations adds a unique dimension to the sonic landscape, capturing the organic beauty that nature and collaboration can bring to a musical journey.

To celebrate the album, Daniel has shared with us a playlist of tracks that inspired Into the Blue.

“I’ll preface this by saying that I don’t think the album sounds like any of these songs, but they’re songs I love and I can hear little parts from each which have influenced the record whether through production elements, song ideas/structures or just being one of many songs by an artist I love.”Daniel Trakell.

In ‘Into the Blue,’ Daniel Trakell masterfully weaves together the threads of nature’s tranquillity and heartfelt narratives, creating an immersive musical tapestry that lingers in the soul long after the last note fades. Into the Blue is available now everywhere.
