Daste Go Worldwide with New Single, ‘Atlas’
Gold Coast trio daste is back with a dynamic new single, Atlas, offering a fresh, bopping pop sound that experiments with a wide range of audio elements. The song marks a significant step in their musical journey, reflecting a period of introspection and creative evolution.
“Atlas was one of the first songs we wrote that made it on the album. At the time we were still trying to figure out the direction and feeling of the new record. We had a really fun session where things just started moving immediately and everybody was throwing ideas around. We started writing about the stress and weight of life and how we deal with that struggle by metaphorically lifting and holding the weight of the world on our shoulders. I think the main message of this song is being able to struggle and lose grip on your world, but still having the ability to find your strength and pick it up again. We also loved the reference to the story of Atlas in Greek mythology, where he was condemned to hold up the sky and heavens for eternity.”

The accompanying video brilliantly translates the song’s audio essence into visual storytelling. It was crafted with the help of close friends Maxwell Byrne (Golden Vessel/1tbsp) and Bec Zanetti, who co-directed the project. The collaboration resulted in a vibrant and enchanting visual experience.
daste is set to tour Australia in August, followed by their first shows in the USA and Canada in September/October. Fans can look forward to a reworked live set featuring new, unheard tracks.
