Daste. Unveil Captivating New Single ‘Tide’ Ahead of Upcoming Album ‘dasteWORLD.’

Australian smooth-pop trio daste. are keeping fans on their toes with the release of their latest single, Tide, a final taste of their highly anticipated album, dasteWORLD., dropping February 19. This dreamy track explores themes of breaking free from life’s pressures, capturing the essence of unstructured, liberating moments.

‘Tide’ reflects a blend of two creative sessions, merging elements of an earlier track with a fresh bassline and beat that resonated with the band’s audience online. With melodies that naturally aligned, and a standout chorus crafted by band member Tyler, the song seamlessly came together to deliver a soulful, laid-back vibe that’s sure to resonate with listeners.

“Tide is the tale of two songs really. On one of our writing trips we had written a song called ‘Tide’ which features the first verse and pre-chorus you’ll hear on this track. It had a slightly similar vibe, maybe a little more upbeat. Fast forward a month or so, I had uploaded an instagram reel of this particular bassline/beat I’d made and got a cool response from a lot of people, and we wanted to try to include the beat in the album somehow.

Turns out the melodies from that original song fit perfectly and when trying to think of a new chorus, Tyler came to us with the ‘Baby won’t you back it up’ line and the rest was history. Ultimately, the lyrics and vibe reflect a longing to break free from pressures and find solace in fleeting, unstructured moments. There’s a pull toward exploring new spaces – both physically and emotionally, to rediscover clarity.” ~ Callum MacDonald, daste.

The past year has been a whirlwind for daste., from selling out a show in Sydney during their Australian tour to making their North American debut with performances in iconic cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Toronto. They also showcased their talent at SXSW Sydney and joined Tora on their Australian album tour.

Fans can look forward to seeing daste. live again soon as they join Still Woozy on his Australian tour in February, before heading to the UK for festival performances in May.

Stream ‘Tide’ now and prepare for dasteWORLD.
