Deadshowws Reveal New Single, ‘I Should’
Darkinjung/Central Coast-based alternative-emo four-piece Deadshowws have just revealed their brooding single ‘I Should’ – produced and mixed by lead singer Connor Massey at The Grove Studios.
‘I Should’ is a cathartic cut of roaring alternative-emo, led by walls of distorted guitars, wildly splashing crash cymbals and Connor Massey’s tortured vocals. Taking cues from punk, hardcore, and 2000s emo music, the band construct a haunting, all-encompassing atmosphere punctuated by guttural screams and colossal breakdowns that dramatically lift the track’s intensity.

The band talks about the inspiration behind ‘I Should’:
“It’s a song about battling yourself to get better. It’s a short version, recounting my experience with the people I love begging me to seek help and my struggle in doing so while wallowing in a self-made pit of hopelessness.”
Accompanying the release is a NSW tour with shows at Lass O’Gowrie in Mulubinba/Newcastle, Oxford Art Factory Gallery Bar in Eora/Sydney and La La La’s in Dharawal/Wollongong. They’ve previously shared stages with luminaries Spiderbait, These New South Whales, Teenage Dads, Shady Nasty, Ocean Grove, Dear Seattle, Pennywise (USA), Pacific Avenue, The Rubens, and Trophy Eyes. Deadshowws have also played festivals Rolling Sets (2022), Rolling Sets (2023) and Thrashville(2023).
