Dean Lewis Drops Emotional New Single ‘I Hate That It’s True’ Ahead of The Epilogue Deluxe Album Release

Global chart-topper Dean Lewis has unveiled his heartfelt new single ‘I Hate That It’s True’, released today as a powerful preview of the upcoming deluxe edition of his ARIA #2 album The Epilogue, arriving Friday, July 11.

The new single, written just 10 weeks ago in a Bondi Beach Airbnb, was a last-minute addition to the deluxe album. With its raw acoustic sound and emotionally charged lyrics, Dean says the track signals a new creative direction for his songwriting and production. The track’s urgency and vulnerability have already begun resonating with fans worldwide.

“Usually when I write a song It takes about a year before it can come out. I wrote “I Hate That It’s True” about 10 weeks ago at an Airbnb in Bondi beach. The day I wrote it we spent 48 hours finishing the production, rushing it over to my team and adding it onto my deluxe album.  For me the song is a hint at what is to come on my next album; in the sense of where I’m headed with my songwriting and the more acoustic raw production.” – Dean Lewis.

The Epilogue (Deluxe) will feature five new songs, including the fan-favourite ‘With You’, which has racked up over 62 million global streams and climbed radio and streaming charts globally. Also included is a stripped-back cover of the Goo Goo Dolls’ ‘Iris’ and a newly released duet version of ‘With You’ featuring Sofia Camara.

With over 420 million global streams from the original album and praise from global tastemakers and top playlists, The Epilogue (Deluxe) cements Dean Lewis’ place as one of Australia’s most compelling singer-songwriters.

Pre-orders for the deluxe edition are now live, including a limited edition 2LP vinyl.
