Deep Sea Arcade Leave The Ocean & Head To The Skies In New Track

deep-sea-arcade

It’s been four years since we last heard new tunes from psychedelic outfit Deep Sea Arcade, but now they’re back with a new song, new album, and a new tour!

Not to be confused with the classic Foo Fighters anthem, Learning To Fly is the first taste of a sophomore album from Deep Sea Arcade expected for release in early 2017. The last we heard from Deep Sea Arcade was their debut album in 2012 ‘Outlands’, which was met with praise from taste-makers for its familiar twist of psychedelic. Learning to Fly features the same great brand of psychedelic found on their debut but with new electronic elements to spice things up.

Starting with a beautiful string arrangement before a Bowie-esque acoustic guitar rings out like a lost astronaut, Learning To Fly starts out with an addictive slow burn. Suddenly, the track bursts into colour with the strings remaining as rattling drums groove along while the vocals float along singing about whether the love they are feeling is “physical or chemical”.

In another surprise, we’re treated to fantastic saxophone to add even more colourful flair to an already vibrant tune. Weaving throughout the sax is interesting guitar lines to make some fascinating sounds that you would think would be unsettling but are incredibly warm and welcoming.

Deep Sea Arcade will be playing most capital cities when they hit the road to support the release of Learning To Fly. Check out the track and tour dates below!
