Deep Sea Arcade Release Dreamlike New Single ‘Alone In America’ Ahead of Upcoming Album
Sydney indie rock favourites Deep Sea Arcade have returned with their new single Alone In America, the second glimpse into their forthcoming third album Colourised, due in early 2026.
Drawing inspiration from the band’s final tour before the passing of member Nick Weaver, the track is steeped in reflection and longing. Cinematic and ethereal, it captures the fragile balance between distance and belonging — a moment where everything feels far away yet intensely alive.

The release is paired with a mesmerising video clip, drenched in psychedelic visuals that bring the dreamlike quality of the song to life. Sunny Americana landscapes twist into surreal collages, perfectly mirroring the track’s emotional haze. The result is both hypnotic and transportive — a visual journey that feels inseparable from the music.
Frontman Nic McKenzie describes Alone In America as a subtle homage to his early influences, particularly ’70s legends America, whose rich harmonies echo in the track’s layered vocals.
“My second love after The Beatles is the band America — who were also produced by George Martin. So many of their songs just make me want to sing harmonies, and ‘Alone in America’ is definitely a bit of a homage to that.” – Nic McKenzie, Deep Sea Arcade.
Co-produced with Jay Watson (Tame Impala, Pond), the song evolved from stripped-back demos into one of Deep Sea Arcade’s most compelling and immersive works yet.
Following April’s No Direction, which racked up over 300,000 streams, Alone In America solidifies Deep Sea Arcade’s return as not just nostalgic, but vital proof they remain one of Australia’s most imaginative indie outfits.
