Diesel Announces Rockin’ New Record & Regional Tour

Singer-songwriter Diesel has announced the release of his new album plus a huge 21-date regional tour. His fifteenth studio album ‘Americana’ is set for release on the 1st of July, and the accompanying tour will see the musician traveling around Australia to places often neglected by touring artists.

Diesel has been a staple of the Australian rock scene for more than 20 years. Best known for hits Tip Of My Tongue and Cry In Shame, Diesel first shot to fame in the early 90s when albums ‘Hepfidelitiy’ and ‘The Lobbyist’ reached number 1 on the ARIA Album Charts. Since then Diesel has toured Australia and the world extensively, released countless albums, and even featured on several albums with brother-in-law Jimmy Barnes.

The upcoming album ‘Americana’ will pay homage to the singer’s American roots, as it features contemporary music with elements infused from country, folk, bluegrass, R&B, and of course Blues.

“From moving out here from America, then moving back and forth again…I wondered if I would have as much fascination and love for American music if I had just stayed in America all my life and never made it out to Australia? It’s safe to say I probably wouldn’t,” Diesel said.

Fans will get a taste of what’s to come from ‘Americana’ when Diesel releases two covers prior to the album’s release: Here Comes My Girl, originally by Tom Petty, and Queen Jane Approximately, by Bob Dylan.
