We’re ‘Diggin’ Ngaiire’s New Video

Papua New Guinean powerhouse Ngaiire will drop her highly anticipated sophomore album ‘Blastoma’ on Friday 10th June, following up her 2013 debut album ‘Lamentations’.

Ahead of the album’s release Ngaiire also released the video for her latest track Diggin. The song starts off with an easy electronic rhythm which is then overtaken by Ngaiire’s gorgeous vocals. Electronic percussion accompanied by a smooth synthesiser gives the song an energetic vibe.

“It’s about depression, it’s about anxiety, it’s about heartbreak, it’s about loss, and all the things that can make you feel like not wanting to get out of bed. What we decide to do in those moments provides the commentary for the rest of our lives,” said Ngaiire.

The video is a beautiful visual accompaniment to the track, displaying Ngaiire and two dancers in a series of contrasting light settings. The dancers synchronise their voluptuous moves to the music and give the video a sensual touch.

Ngaiire is on a roll after her track Once came in at #73 in last year’s triple j Hottest 100. The Sydney0based artist is currently touring with regional music festival Groovin The Moo and has been announced on the 2016 Splendour In The Grass lineup.

‘Blastoma’ will be released on Friday 10th June, and in the mean time we’ll satisfy our excitement by sticking Diggin on repeat. Check out the video below!
