DZ Deathrays Announce New Album Easing Out of Control, Drop Single ‘Real Love’ and 2026 National Tour

Australian psych-punk heavyweights DZ Deathrays have announced their brand-new album Easing Out of Control, set for release on January 16, 2026, alongside the release of their bold new single ‘Real Love’ and a run of national headline shows.

The album follows their acclaimed 2023 record R.I.F.F. and continues the band’s evolution from chaotic party-punk roots into more dynamic and experimental songwriting. Originally conceived as two EPs, Easing Out of Control took shape as a concise yet ambitious full-length, balancing DZ’s signature high-octane energy with moments of intimacy and reflection.

“This is a record that dips in and out of chaos and more delicate moments,” says vocalist and guitarist Shane Parsons. “We wanted to bring in more dance music elements, but still keep that raw DZ sound alive.”

Lead single ‘Real Love’ marks one of DZ Deathrays’ boldest left turns yet. Written primarily on piano, the track explores new parenthood, unconditional love, and the unpredictability of modern life, while still carrying the trio’s trademark edge.

“It was a challenge to track,” admits Parsons. “I wanted it to feel heartfelt but still off-the-cuff and casual — like it just spilled out. It’s definitely a different moment for us, but I think it opens the door for our sound to go anywhere.”

Easing Out of Control also features a guest appearance from Violent Soho’s Luke Henery and was recorded across multiple sessions in the band’s home studios.

To celebrate the release, DZ Deathrays will tour Australia in early 2026, bringing their explosive live show to stages in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Hobart, Brisbane, and Sydney.
