DZ Deathrays Release Their Own ‘Pils n Thrills’ Beer
Dust off those ping-pong balls and scrounge around for some red cups because Brisbane duo DZ Deathrays are launching their own limited edition beer!
The ARIA award winning thrashers have teamed up with popular Newtown brewery Young Henrys to create their very own Czech pilsner, aptly called ‘Pils n Thrills’. The release should come as little surprise considering the band got their start playing at house parties.
“Tried home brewing, tasted like piss…tried buying beer at the pub, too expensive…brewed 86 kegs of ‘Pils n Thrills’ with Young Henrys to have beer on tap, so to speak, and we might actually pull this one off,” said vocalist and guitarist Shane Parsons.
Young Henrys’ co-founder Oscar McMahon described the beer as clean and classic and said it should be drunk “fast, fun, and loud”, just like the DZ Deathrays boys.
“No gimmicks here, just a stripped back classic, compact malt bill and a surprisingly hoppy palm to the nose. The DZ Deathrays ‘pils is a clean tasting beer with a dry finish, from first to last glass,” said McMahon.
You can get your mitts on the sweet taste of ‘Pils and Thrills’ when it’s launched at The Blurst of Times Festival in Brisbane this Saturday. DZ Deathrays will be your personal beer sommeliers pouring the brew from 5-6pm in The Brightside’s beer garden.
“We will be launching it this weekend at Blurst of Times Festival where we will both be personally pouring ice cold glasses of pure golden happiness for all!” the band said.
So don’t be a stupid monkey. Instead, come and sink a beer at the festival where Dune Rats, Methyl Ethel, Bad//Dreems, Kirin J Callinan and more will be rocking out over three stages.
