DZ Deathrays Unveil New Single ‘Skyline’ and Announce Upcoming Album ‘Easing Out of Control’
Australian psych-punk legends DZ Deathrays are back with their brand new single ‘Skyline’, the second taste of their forthcoming sixth studio album, Easing Out of Control, set for release on January 16, 2026.
Following the piano-led surprise of ‘Real Love’, ‘Skyline’ sees the band venture into shimmering indie-rock territory, showcasing a more reflective and melodic side of their sound while retaining the raw tension that has defined DZ Deathrays since Bloodstreams.

Frontman Shane Parsons describes the track as “a note to my future self,” written during a late-night drive to Sydney. “It’s that moment where you zone out and everything makes a bit more sense,” he says. With clear nods to The Strokes and early-2000s indie, ‘Skyline’ blends nostalgic tones with the band’s trademark grit, topped off by Lachlan Ewbank’sglitched-out guitar solo that turns catharsis into chaos.
The upcoming album Easing Out of Control, recorded with longtime collaborator Luke Henery (Violent Soho), promises a balance of texture, restraint, and emotional depth. To celebrate its release, DZ Deathrays will embark on a national tour across January and February 2026, bringing their explosive live energy back to stages around Australia.
