Elk Road Drops New Summer Anthem Featuring Nat Foster

Elk Road New Hanging By A Thread

Up-and-coming Australian producer Rory Barton Smith otherwise known as Elk Road has just released his summer-ready hit Hanging By A Thread. The track features gorgeous vocals from singer Nat Foster and boasts a sweet summertime beat that you’ll definitely want to bust a move to.

Rory co-wrote the song alongside Jonathan Boulet and Ali Barter, who all decided Foster’s vocals would feature perfectly on the track. Rory tells us the song is all about “keeping integrity and believing in yourself”, and is disguised as “a summery spring-time anthem”.

Hanging By A Thread’s catchy beat captures Rory’s ideas behind the track perfectly, Foster’s silky-smooth vocals teamed with Rory’s clever use of trumpets adds to the positive vibes you can’t help but feel when you listen to the track.

Elk Road burst onto the Perth music scene in 2014, but has risen in popularity since the release of his more recent bangers. Hanging By A Thread follows the release of other tracks like Not To Worry and Lights, which Rory performed at recent festivals Splendour In The Grass and Vivid Festival. For those who haven’t heard of Elk Road, think Feki, Ta-ku, and Shlohmo. Rory’s skill for remixing popular songs is out of this world, and is definitely worth a listen.

Elk Road is set to perform at Acarida in Perth later this year where he’ll be joined by Alison Wonderland, Leftfield, and CAMARDA, and also at Southbound Festival in Busselton alongside Nicole Millar and The Cat Empire.
