Emma Louise’s “Talk Baby Talk” Video Gives Goosebumps
Emma Louise drives out the demons of a bad relationship in her Talk Baby Talk music video. Directed by Dylan Mark Duclos (The Rubens’ Hoops video), the clip brings to life the immediate aftermath of a break up.
Duclous said, “we focussed heavily on art direction, performance and creating metaphorical imagery that tied back to this bland and fading relationship Emma finds herself in”. The single was released mid-March, meeting much praise for its raw lyrics, intense beat, and brooding atmosphere.
Equally stirring, the music video moves around a very sterile and staged 70s living space. Emma Louise’s lover sits unmoving and unfeeling under her desperately curious gaze, unable to “talk baby talk”. There’s a tone of numbing sadness to the bass’ tone in the song that pairs seamlessly with the fading pastel coloured walls of the set.
Duclos’ artistic direction in combination with Louise’s striking and expressive features makes for a rousing and retro take on heartbreak and pop music.
Emma Louise is set to release her full length album by mid-year and will perform at Groovin The Moo. See below for dates and ticket details!
