Start Uni With A Bang At The Foundry’s QUT Unipalooza

Retire your semi-ironic Hawaiian shirts. Put away your bucket hats. The time is nearly upon us. The summer holidays are coming to an end and that means Uni will soon be back in session. With it brings a myriad of horrors. Overpriced textbooks, subject clashes, insufferable group work, 8am lectures and mature age students, these are just some of the nightmarish encounters that tertiary education presents. However, there is always a silver lining. A new semester undoubtedly brings one thing, and that is a massive first week of actual fun things before the pain of exam revision and red bull overdoses. Unipalooza is here to quell your start of semester blues.

There are a few reasons as to why you should be getting off of your Netflix and around this event. First of all, unlike your subjects, most of it is free! Actual free, not going on your HECS ‘free’. Second of all it’s hosted by the good guys at The Foundry, who have done a great job of planning your ease into another year of hell. Last of all, it’s featuring a bunch of killer musicians. What’s not to love?

With a week full of acts such as Good Boy, Zefereli, Pop Cult, The Goon Sax, Deluso, Emerson Snowe and Simi Lacroix, you’re gonna be sweaty from hardcore boogs. If analogue music is more ya thang, The Foundry has you covered with a pop-up vinyl store and awesome goody bags to keep you sane for the semester. They’re also hosting a couple of $5 gigs with The Belligerent, Good Sports, Lime Cordiale and Youth Allowance to round off your week. Phwoar. This is one jam packed taco!
