Escape The Fate Paying Tribute To All Their Scars

Escape The Fat Press Shot 2016

American hard rock veterans Escape The Fate have released a narrative music video for Remember Every Scar from their fifth studio album ‘Hate Me’, released October 2015.

Like previous singles Just A Memory and Alive,  the song is about pushing through the struggles of everyday life by “remembering every single scar”. The lyrics deal with the use of self-medication to numb the pain of memories from a drunken night. Throughout the video, band members persevere through police beatings.

Remember Every Scar is by far the most mainstream track on the album. Frontman Craig Mabbit says Escape The Fate was always a diverse band who tried to have a variety of songs ranging from ballads to heavy rock. However, Mabbit believes ‘Hate Me’ shows the outfit’s diversity, bravery, and individuality.

“Lyrically, a lot of these tracks are based around the hate we’ve received over the years and just embracing that and using it to our own advantage,” Mabbit said.

“It’s very humbling for me to be able to listen to this collection of songs and think about where we’ve come from and what we’ve been through to get to this point.”
