“Garage has blown up so much recently, and I have a lot of friends who have become masters of the genre, so my eyes have definitely been opened to it as it’s not the type of thing I’ve really been super into in the past. Skillz is me jumping on that trend a little bit and saying ‘okay, fine, i’ll do it, but I’m doing it MY WAY’. So the natural manifestation of that is this colourful, campy, tongue-in-cheek take on the genre that is not exclusively a parody nor a love letter, but a tasteful mix of both.”
