Fist Bump The Blues Away With Split Seconds’ New Single & Tour
Relocation Blues is the token return of indie-pop favourites Split Seconds. It will have your head nodding in understanding to the forthright lyrics and bopping to the catchy beat. The release also coincides with the announcement of their upcoming tour.
This track is the lead single off the indie-pop group’s second album ‘Rest & Relocation’, which is set for release in June. It’s been a rough couple of years for the band, which spun out following the success of their debut album after the loss of two band members. But as always, it’s the downtrodden who have the most interesting stories to tell.
The track delves into the bands relocation from Perth to Melbourne, and laments on the thought of being forgotten back home. Along their journey the boys have battled with routines, Victorian frostbite, relationships gone sour, and the dreaded annual Christmas homecoming (we’ve all been there). There’s something in this song for everyone – it’s down to earth, refreshingly honest, and a beacon of lyrical fortitude.
Reborn, and arguably better than ever, Split Seconds are set to return to Aussie stages with friends Jack Stirling & The Perfect, Near Myth, Spooked, and Gem Bones. This is not something you want to miss!
