Flume and Emma Louise Announce Collaborative Album DUMB, Share First Single ‘Easy Goodbye’
Grammy-winning producer Flume and acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter Emma Louise have announced their highly anticipated collaborative album DUMB, set for release on August 22. Alongside the announcement, the duo have shared the first taste of the project with the stunning lead single Easy Goodbye.
Longtime friends and past collaborators—most notably on Hollow from Flume’s 2022 album Palaces—the pair reunited last year in northern New South Wales, where they wrote and produced DUMB from the ground up. The 10-track album merges Emma Louise’s intimate, shape-shifting songwriting with Flume’s signature glitchy, widescreen production, creating a soundscape both raw and expansive.

“The title DUMB is loaded with weight for me. Growing up undiagnosed neurodivergent, I often felt dumb—struggling at school, forgetting things, silencing myself to fit in. In the studio, whenever we got stuck, Harley and I would laugh and say ‘make it dumb’ to stop overthinking. It worked every time. At first, naming the album DUMB felt irreverent and freeing, but later I realised how deeply it connected to my own fear of being seen as stupid and unworthy. This album is me reclaiming that word, letting go of shame, and promising myself I’ll never abandon my voice again.” – Emma Louise.
For Flume, DUMB follows his recent collaborative EP with JPEGMAFIA and marks another bold step in his genre-defying career. With Emma Louise’s haunting vocals and Flume’s groundbreaking sonic palette, DUMB promises to be one of 2025’s most exciting releases.
Pre-orders for DUMB are open now, with Easy Goodbye streaming everywhere.
