Flyying Colours Release Eccentric Video, Announce Debut Album
Melbourne psych-rock outfit Flyying Colours have unveiled the music video for their single It’s Tomorrow Now, lifted from their forthcoming debut album ‘Mindfulness’. The video sees the band visually represent the ideologies found in their music, through an enticing 90s inspired video.
It’s Tomorrow Now is a dynamically diverse track that sees Flyying Colours follow the Nirvana-esque path of previous tracks such as Wavygravy. The song features grungy, psychedelic guitar work to compliment the contrasted vocal pairing of Brodie Brümmer and Gemma O’Connor.
The music video for It’s Tomorrow Now, again like the song, is reminiscent of Wavegravy’s, with its exuberant choice of colours and various clip overlays. Flyying Colours pull out a few clichés in this one with ‘retro’ style band scenes and footage of members appear on TV screens, and camera pull-aways to reveal people in tedious moods. This further develops the psychedelic atmosphere Flyying Colours have worked so hard to cultivate.
Thom Russell, who has previously worked alongside Chet Faker and Hiatus Kaiyote, created the video for Flyying Colours. Brümmer stated, “He has a unique way of capturing ideas within our music and visually representing them. We have never provided him lyrics or anything like that he just listens to the song and develops a way to present that as a video or image.”
Flyying Colours’ debut album ‘Mindfulness’ is set to be released on Friday, 23rd of September. Have a look at the video for It’s Tomorrow Now and Flyying Colours live dates below!
