Four Music Videos You Have To Check Out!

We’ve been graced in the music world this week with the release of four incredible new videos to get you vibing through the rest of your Monday!

Chase & Status with Control (ft. Slaves)

chase-status

UK electronic lords Chase & Status have teamed up with British rock duo Slaves for their long-awaited new song Control. In a track that sounds kind of like English electro group The Prodigy, Chase & Status and Slaves’ collaboration is really, really cool! From flaming tyres and flashing lights to raging police on horseback, the entire video is super intense…in a good way.

One of the coolest parts of the video would have to be the cage-like drum setup of Chase & Status’ drummer Andy Gangadeen that creates a daunting silhouette behind all the screaming and captivating rap from Jonny Craig, lead vocalist of Slaves. This all somehow fits in perfectly and adds to the alien-like intensity of this cool new clip.

The track is taken from Chase & Status’ upcoming fourth studio album, expected to be released later this year.

Daughter with How

London-based trio Daughter have released the music video for their outlandish new track How. It’s the most nightmarish juxtaposition between lush, picturesque Newport beach and the isolated, lonely terror of agoraphobia we’ve ever seen. The video follows the story of a woman who takes viewers on an intense rollercoaster of emotions as she faces her fears, and finally finds the courage to sink her feet into the sandy shores, leaving us wondering “how?”.

The video is based on the short story 5,040, one of three works in a series written by Stuart Evers and commissioned by Daughter. The soaring single is taken from Daughter’s acclaimed second album ‘Not To Disappear’, released earlier this year.

The whimsically tuneful trio will be hitting our shores in April, with their Melbourne show already sold out and Sydney venue being upgraded due to high demand. You can still grab tickets HERE

Halsey with Colours

halsey-standing-2015

Halsey is back again with a stunning music video for Colours. Despite tearing our hearts out in a desperate display of unrequited love, Halsey’s quirky new vid has us really freaking excited.

Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey features as the on-screen romance and plays the perfect prep-school sweetheart, until he “decided purple wasn’t for [him]” and left poor Halsey in a desperate, crying heap on the floor. It’s just a really great story of one-sided passion, and the muted colours in the video provide for such a heartbreakingly beautiful irony.

Colours comes from Halsey’s album ‘Badlands’ and although she’s touring Europe, the US, and the UK there are unfortunately no dates for Australian shows. #Sad

ZHU with In The Morning

unnamed

DJ and electronic producer ZHU has released his new track In The Morning, a track which carries a much mellower vibe than we’re used to. The new video is hypnotically weird and wonderful, and kind of leaves you sort of gobsmacked with a sense of confusion about everything you thought you understood the world…

It’s all very cool and utterly transfixing as you’re plunged between flashes of close-up body parts and a woman in agonising pain, then to incredible landscapes and things that should be beautiful in any other context, but somehow just…aren’t. In The Morning is the perfect mix of fascinating cinematography and disturbingly powerful conceptualisation.
