Frenzal Rhomb’s Jay & Lindsay Get All Intimate and Sh*t For One Night Only
Frenzal Rhomb’s Jay and Lindsay are going to be putting on an acoustic song and dance spectacular for one night only in Noosa! Yep, you read that right. The much-loved Aussie punk duo will be putting on a show called “Jay and Lindsay’s Variety Hour”, as a one off performance on the Sunshine Coast.
The pair are best known for their roles in Aussie punk rock band Frenzal Rhomb, who exploded into the scene in the 90s, with their tongue-in-cheek humour and infectious tunes. The band’s fourth studio album, and arguably their most popular, ‘A Man’s Not A Camel’ shows the band’s nature well, with track titles such as I Know Everything About Everything, and Let’s Drink A Beer. The 1999 album also gave the band their hit single Never Had So Much Fun, which has become a punk anthem staple.
Speaking of the Variety Night, Booker of Villa Noosa, Christian Tryhorn says of the anticipated turnout, “We’re expecting a mass tradie contingent so will have the durry machine stocked and the VB ice cold”.
For their acoustic show, the duo will be playing an assortment of Frenzal Rhomb songs spanning the past 25 years, as well as a collection of covers from other artists. Considering the duo were breakfast hosts of triple j during the mid 2000s, they should know plethora of songs worthy of covering. Joining the pair will be local act Not To Regret, as well as Tom from Perth band Grim Fandango.
