Georgia Lines’ Top 5 tips for facing obstacles, uncertainties & overcoming them!
- One motto that has guided much of my journey is from the book “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”: “You can’t go over it, you can’t go under it, you have to go through it.” Facing things head-on, sitting with the feelings, and doing the hard work may not always feel great, but in the long run, your future self will thank you for not avoiding what you need to work through to heal and become a healthier version of yourself.
- Don’t face the tough seasons of your life alone. Isolation is the worst.
- Psychologists/counsellors & mental health professionals are invaluable tools when facing tough seasons. There are often financial aid resources available if access to a psychologist/counsellor is out of reach.
- Journaling to record the journey and process is key. I often look back at my journals and see the progress and growth, which is encouraging and easy to forget if not documented. It’s also a helpful way to process thoughts and figure out what’s going on in my mind.
- Be kind to yourself. Doing the hard work is really tough, and some days are easier than others. Holding space for yourself and the journey is crucial.
