Get Funky With Cleopold’s Latest Disco-Infused Video
Cleopold sure knows how to keep it funky fresh. The Australian-born, Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter’s Not Coming Down music video is a low-key escape from this millennium. Rife with 80s dance grooves, puffy jackets, and impossibly white sneakers, the song was a highlight from Cleopold’s ‘Altitude & Oxygen’ EP.
A highlight from Cleopold’s ‘Altitude & Oxygen’ EP, Not Coming Down is injected with high doses of super-groove and gorgeous 80s inspired synthesizer. This is certainly a track to jive to, and its upbeat chorus will get your toes tapping in no time, but the sweet breakdowns also pack an added level of emotional depth. It’s a track that would make Disco Stu proud.
Australians aged over 18 probably remember their tween years tearing up the LED-light dance floor under a shining disco ball, and the Not Coming Down video is like a beautiful ode to those memories. The video is in fact an animation composed of 10,000 shots using rapid-fire photography, and its stop-start quality contributes to that old-school ambience. In the best way possible, it would fit in nicely amongst random 80s aerobics videos and cats doing stupid stuff.
Packed with plenty of fun visuals, the Not Coming Down video is pretty much a perfect fit for the song’s disco DIY feel and old-school karaoke machine vibes.
