Get Ready For MMVAF ’16 With Our Top Picks Playlist

MMVAF 2016 Logo

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Head up to the Sunshine Coast for the Maroochy Music and Visual Arts Festival (MMVAF) this Saturday for some killer tunes, beaming sunshine, amazing visual art, and a good ol’ boogie!

With a stellar lineup, the Festival’s sure to deliver some of the nation’s best music and visual art. To get you warmed up and in the mood we’ve created a juicy Spotify playlist especially for the occasion, so you can discover a new act or just freshen you memory of who’s playing!

Headlining alongside singer-songwriter Matt Corby is Aussie electronic duo Peking Duk. Their hit single High (feat. Nicole Millar) secured the #2 spot on 2014’s triple j Hottest 100 and with collaborations with artists like SAFIA, it’s no wonder these guys drop banger after banger!

We’re keen to catch London-based Aussie girl George Maple as she melts our hearts with her sultry vocals and R&B inspired electro-pop (and pretty sexy costumes!). Check out her must-listen track Talk Talk on our Spotify playlist.

For all the OGs out there, be sure to check out Allday at his set! The Adelaide-born rapper has taken the nation by storm since his debut album ‘Startup Cult’ hit shelves in 2014. We love his hit track You Always Know The DJ and his 2012 mixtape ‘Euphoria’.

Alternative new wave rockers City Calm Down is also set to perform on Saturday following the success of their debut album which dropped earlier last year. Hailing from Melbourne, the new wave four-piece band will be sure to perform some of their new tracks like Rabbit Run and Your Fix as they head north for the weekend!

Producer Japanese Wallpaper (A.K.A Gab Strum) is also set to delight us with his smooth combinations of beautiful vocals and wicked instrumentals and production. He’s been busy making magic tracks like Forces and Cocoon and has even had the time to collaborate with Arabic-Aussie Wafia.

If reading this hasn’t got you quite convinced, make sure you check out our Spotify playlist below to hear the rest of our top picks and throw us a follow on Spotify to get our favourite picks delivered straight to you! Make sure to grab yourself a ticket as they’re selling out fast!
