Good God! Cinematic Indie Rockers Forebear Announce New Album & Drop Single
Los Angeles indie outfit Forebear have dropped an expressive single Delroy Lindo in anticipation of their debut album ‘Good God’. The track is an exhilarating taste of Forebear’s brand of indie rock infused with classical nuances – challenging the mind, but never succumbing to boring complexity.
Delroy Lindo opens to an ominous, exposed bass riff before breaking into a frenetic swirl of strings and vocals. Gripping crescendos and mournful lyricism create an eerily comforting emptiness, offset by the sense of tension in violist Molly Rogers’ syrupy sweet harmonies.
The track features brief instances of respite when the instrumentation fades out, allowing frontman Scott Goldbaum’s captivating vocals to shine. The lyrics are poetry in motion with a darker tinge – “You got caught in the misanthropic nihilistic way of interacting with human nature’s nomenclature”.
Forebear’s cinematic weaving of brooding vocals, driving guitars, and sombre strings stands out amongst the overpopulated indie rock genre. Evidenced by their nihilistic lyrics, the band doesn’t shy away from their own existential crises, instead transforming them into sweet, sweet harmonies.
Forebear’s debut album ‘Good God’ is set for release on Friday 26th of August.
