Good Morning Share ‘Mirror Freak’ & ‘Escalator’ From Third Album

Good Morning

Good Morning is made up of Stefan Blair and Liam Parsons, two best friends since high school who make music that reflects their suburban Melbourne life. It’s breezy, reflective and contemplative. They’ve shared two new singles, Mirror Freak and Escalator, from their upcoming new album, ‘Priza // Reward’.

Their third album appears to be their most resolute, confident and experimental. After spending years on the road behind their masterful two albums—’Shawcross’ and ‘Glory’—the duo return with a set of 10 tracks that reveal the essence of Good Morning. Still writing poignant and meditative lyrics of the mundane, the group touch on something completely new and austere in the songwriter community.

Mirror Freak is the closest thing you’ll hear to a garage rock number from Good Morning. Speaking of experimental, Stefan Blair’s dad chimes in on the track with a whirring rendition of a free-form jazz solo. It fits in surprisingly well. Escalator, on the other hand, is an almost-soul song about having a panic attack in a shopping centre.

‘Prize // Reward’ is out on Friday 11 April via Bedroom Suck / Remote Control Records. Catch them next Sunday at the Melbourne institution, The Tote, alongside Slag Queens and Heck & Spit.
