Gorillaz Release New Single ‘The Manifesto’ Featuring Trueno and Proof Ahead of Album The Mountain

Global superstar animated band Gorillaz have released their brand-new single The Manifesto (feat. Trueno and Proof), the second track lifted from their highly anticipated ninth studio album The Mountain, set for release in 2026.

Following last month’s drop of The Happy Dictator with Sparks, The Manifesto continues to showcase the ambitious scope of The Mountain, a record that promises an expansive collection of collaborations and bold sonic experimentation. The single features Argentine rap sensation Trueno, whose sharp verses explore life, mortality, and the future, alongside a rare posthumous appearance from late Detroit-born rapper Proof, a longtime Gorillaz collaborator. Their combined energy is elevated by contributions from sarod maestros Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash, legendary Indian wedding brass band Jea Band Jaipur, bansuri player Ajay Prasanna, and The Mountain Choir led by Vijayaa Shanker.

Produced by Gorillaz with James Ford, Samuel Egglenton and Remi Kabaka Jr., plus Bizarrap, The Mountain was recorded across the globe, from London and Los Angeles to Mumbai, Varanasi, Ashgabat and Damascus. The 15-track album will feature an extraordinary list of guests including Black Thought, Anoushka Shankar, IDLES, Gruff Rhys, Paul Simonon, Yasiin Bey and many more.

Alongside the release, Gorillaz have announced The Mountain Tour 2026, which will see the band headline arenas across the UK and Ireland, plus a historic show at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in June — their biggest UK headline date yet.
