Graves Release New Track “Erase” + Announce East Coast Tour
Wollongong bruisers, Graves, have released a brutal new track Erase, as well as announcing their ‘Monster’ Australian tour in support of their unreleased debut album, ‘Monster’!
The new track Erase sees the band take a more hardcore approach, rather than their usual breakdown-centric style, a la The Acacia Strain. The band’s fusion of beatdown and hardcore is extremely well executed on Erase, borrowing the best parts of each genre. The hardcore drum patterns and riffing, combined with the bands heavily down-tuned string guitars, work together to create an ominous and almost percussive track, with each chug hitting your eardrum more forcefully than the last. The only time the track slows down is to build up to the bone crushing breakdown. Rather than being thrown in at the end, Graves places it roughly three quarters of the way through the song. The slowing of the song builds tension, before the band launches into the shattering breakdown and smash through the rest of the track.
As well as releasing a new single, Graves have announced a massive national tour, hitting all the major East Coast cities (sorry Perth). Along for the ride are US heavy hitters Kublai Khan, Perth-based hardcore crew Cursed Earth, and Melbourne riff-lords Justice For The Damned. Graves are also making an appearance at Invasion Fest in Melbourne!
If you’re a fan of the heavy stuff, make sure to grab a ticket to this one because this is gonna be one hell of a tour!
Graves’ debut album ‘Monster’ is out on Friday 21st of October!
