Great Gable Release Their Second Studio Album, ‘On The Wall In The Morning Light’

Perth four-piece, Great Gable, has just released their second studio album, On The Wall In The Morning Light. Alongside the album, they’ve announced a massive national tour, stopping off in almost every corner of the country throughout October and November.

The new album features the band’s latest single, Sidewalk and released alongside the album is the accompanying visual for the smooth indie jam. The track carries a classic nostalgic feel to it, filled with emotion and soothing melodies; lyrically, it covers a relatable topic for most.

“This song was written at the very beginning of the pandemic  while trying to juggle multiple life problems at once. The lyrics are quite honest and open about how we experience the same types of things. We’re more relatable than we think, and it’s more or less about breaking down those walls,” says lead guitarist Matt Preen of the track. “It’s almost a conversation piece, a tongue in cheek reference to those narcissistic tendencies. It’s totally fine to feel down about something because most of the time everyone’s too worried about themselves anyway,” he adds.

The video matches the audio to video perfectly; filmed in their local suburb, it portrays a walk down the typical Australian sidewalk.

“We’ve always loved doing music videos in a DIY fashion, it’s fun and interesting for us. Working closely with our good friend Andrew Briggs was a delight – we’re so comfortable in front of the camera when he’s behind it. The concept was based around the idea of walking around the block and meeting various characters along the way,” Matt explains.

Great Gable’s brand new album featuring Sidewalk and more is available now, everywhere.
