Greater Good Artist Initiative Returns Expanded In 2023 With New Partners
Returning in its third year, Good Intent have upped their game on their independent artist initiative ‘Greater Good‘. In an aim to bring through the next generation of exceptional musical talents, the program gives back to the independent artist community by providing in-kind services and a cash grant totalling over $25,000 AUD.
In addition to their partners Studios 301, Billy Zammit, Make Merchandise, PLAKKIT and Ben Mitchell from previous years, the team have bolstered the offering with a Vinyl Package, Legal Consultation, and Accounting Consultation from Zenith Records, Media Arts Lawyers and White Sky respectively. The pack includes a $4,000 AUD cash grant to further develop their career.
“This all started with our passion for championing Australian music that we love, and we’re fortunate to be in a position to be able to give back to our community, connect dots and provide advice for artists on their journeys. It’s challenging to catch a break in today’s climate, so we’re truly stoked with this years offering and linking up on a bigger pack with our partners.” says Chief Operating Officer Rick Bridgman.

“Greater Good really changed the trajectory of my EP campaign. Good Intent supported me with the first single ‘Disrupt’, giving me some great advice, a huge insight into digital marketing and really started me off with some big wins with playlisting, radio play, some fun interviews and even rotation on triple j Unearthed. It really was a total package though; a dream to work with Billy Zammit, who helped bring to life my visual concepts. Ben helped rework my logo and a huge shout out to Make Merchandise too, always love working with that team. Every single element of the prize was so helpful to my year and allowed me to get to work with creatives, that I normally wouldn’t have the budget for as a fresh artist.”

The agency also recently announced their fifth birthday celebrations, to be held at Black Bear Lodge, Meanjin/Brisbane on BIGSOUND eve (Monday September 4). The night is set to feature live sets from Yugambeh/Gold Coast-based party starters Bootleg Rascal and local alt-pop darlings JUNO, plus DJ sets from the likes of Emmy Mack (RedHook / triple j) and Jimmy Kleiner (Select Music). When Australian Music Month hits in November, Good Intent open the doors to their photography/videography studio Good Loco, giving away complimentary dry hire to the space to independent artists. They also sponsor local junior Rugby League team Alexandria Rovers, and hold ongoing fundraising efforts for Support Act, of which the agency has raised thousands of dollars to date.
Good Intent offers a range of services across radio plugging, playlist pitching, worldwide blogs, digital marketing, label services, tastemaker club and radio promo, artist management, venue bookings and run a photography / videography studio Good Loco out of their Bulanaming/Marrickville-based office.
