Groove Armada and Hot Chip Announce November Australian Shows
Today we’re spoilt for big tour announcements as news has just landed that not one but two legendary indie dance acts will be coming our way this Spring. That’s right folks, Groove Armada and Hot Chip will be gracing our shores this November. Sydney, Brisbane and Perth fans will be treated to Groove Armada live while Sydney and Brisbane will be treated to the Hot Chip live show.
Since debuting in 1997, GROOVE ARMADA have proven to be one of the most influential forces in dance music. Consistently and uncompromisingly following their own vision, the superstylin’ duo have explored a multitude of sounds while achieving critical acclaim and commercial success. Since meeting at university in the 90s, Tom Findlay and Andy Cato have achieved three UK Top 10 albums, three Grammy nominations, a BRIT nomination and a succession of hit singles that are still being discovered by new fans to this day. Despite having formed a quarter-of-a-century before streaming exploded, GROOVE ARMADA are still commanding the attention of nearly two million monthly listeners on Spotify and have collaborated with or remixed countless high profile artists, including Madonna, Paul Simon, Fatboy Slim, Calvin Harris, Neneh Cherry and Bryan Ferry. GROOVE ARMADA welcomed a brand new and exciting chapter in 2020, releasing their eighth studio album Edge of the Horizon. The electronic luminaries, Hot Chip will hit Australian shores hot off the release of their highly anticipated new album Freakout/Release which drops in August and features singles ‘Down’ and ‘Eleanor’. HOT CHIP’s sound has bridged gaps between the worlds of pop and dance music as their 18 year catalog features songs that move bodies and touch hearts with equal impact. Their multi-decade career has seen them continue to innovate and develop a rich, resonant songcraft. Their 2006 album The Warning was nominated for a Mercury prize, while their 2008 hit single ‘Ready for the Floor’ was nominated for a Grammy. Since then, their music has broadened and deepened, spawning the tender musings on commitment on 2010’s One Life Stand and the poly-genre mashups of 2015’s Why Make Sense?
